Accessibility
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in both light and dark modes.
How it is built
- Text is at least 16 px, with contrast of at least 4.5:1 in both colour schemes.
- Buttons, navigation and links you tap are at least 44 px tall.
- Everything works with a keyboard, and focus is always visible.
- Pages reflow on a 320 px screen and at 200% text size without sideways scrolling.
- No information is shown by colour alone: every status is also written as a word.
- Motion is reduced when your device asks for it.
- Photographs and maps have text descriptions.
How it is checked
Before each release, every page is tested automatically in light and dark, at phone and desktop widths, for contrast, structure and labels, and checked by hand with a keyboard.
Known gaps
This is a design prototype. Testing at 200% text size is not finished yet.
